The weather sensor provides instant Rain & Temperature information.

The ESP-SMT not only suspends irrigation, it measures instantaneous rainfall data, determining effective rainfall and calculating a net replacement value.. The ESP-SMT knows exactly how much to adjust your watering schedule virtually preventing under- or over-watering.

The controller combines raw temperature, moisture information collected to provide zone specific water calculations.

 Different plants have different requirements. That’s why the ESP-SMT customizes each zones irrigation schedule. When calculating an accurate ET value for each zone, it factors in location, soil type, landscape slope, plant type/density, sun exposure, sprinkler type and root depth requirements.

 Based on this zone-specific data the Rain Bird ESP-SMT controller engine optimizes the irrigation schedule to   promote lush, healthy, plant material in each station   while substantially reducing water runoff. 

 
 
 

ESP Modular Series

Modular controllers start with a 4-station base controller and easily expand to 13. These high quality controllers are designed with durable parts, superior surge protection and high temperature tolerance.  Easy to use ESP-style programming makes it manageable for homeowners.  Features include:

 

  • Easily upgrades from a 4 station base model to 13 stations with the addition of 3-station modules at installation or in the future.
  • Hot-swappable modules can be installed while the controller is in operation and in any position.
  • Contractor Default Program allows the contractor to save his own default program and retrieve it with the push of a button.  Easily reload a schedule that has been altered or replace a temporary schedule.
  • Enhanced Diagnostic Feedback alerts the user to conditions when watering is suspended due to an activated sensor, shorted stations, or programming errors with a warning light and message on the LCD.
  • Sensor bypass switch allows the user to override an active sensor.
  • Fuse less, diagnostic circuit breaker identifies a station with valve or wiring problems and continues to water operable stations.
  • Five year lithium battery maintains the time and date for a cumulative life of 5 years during power outages.
